LOCATION: Practices & home games are held at Hereford Middle School, Hereford High School, Genesee Valley, Sparks Elementary School and Fifth District Elementary School.
PROGRAM: The Hereford Rec Lacrosse program offers teams for boys and girls of all skill abilities, aged 3 through 15 years old and is intended for players interested in playing rec lacrosse exclusively. If your player is already playing for a club lacrosse program, please do not register them for a rec lacrosse team.
Scoops: Co-Ed clinic program for girls and boys ages 3-4. No equipment necessary. Program follows US Lacrosse LADM curriculum designed to introduce skills through simple games. Season starts on or around April 1st and runs through June 3rd (approx.). Sparks Elementary School location. T-shirt provided for all players. New players receive a stick.
Spirit: Clinic programs for girls and boys ages 5-6. (Six-year-olds that have played Spirit lacrosse for two years are encouraged to play in the In-House TYKER (boys) or PIXIE (girls) league this year). One practice a week and one in-house game a week played on Saturdays (location TBD but likely at Sparks Elementary School). A mouthguard and goggles are required for girls and full equipment is required for boys. A reversible pinny is provided for all players and a stick will be distributed to all new players that have registered for the first time in the rec lacrosse program. Tyker Boys In-House: All participants are evaluated in late February or early March. Date/Times/Location, TBD. Players will then be divided into equal teams to play in an “in-house” league format. Two practices and 1-2 games a week against other Hereford in-house teams. All games and practices held at Hereford Middle School, with possible shifts depending on field availability. Six-year-olds that have played lacrosse less than 2 years should play in the SPIRIT program this year.
Tyker Boys Travel: Tryouts will be held in late February or early March. Date/Times/Location, TBD. We expect to field one travel team, which will play games against other local rec Tyker teams through the Maryland Youth Lacrosse Association (MYLA). Two practices per week and 1-2 games on weekends, with “away” games at other local fields (the final schedule will be created by MYLA). There will be additional costs to cover MYLA fees for refs and possible end of season tournaments

These teams will compete against surrounding programs in the MYLA league. All players are guaranteed a spot on a team but teams may play in different divisions within the MYLA league depending on an early season assessment by each team’s coach.
UNIFORMS: We are excited to have a new uniform design this year with no increase in cost!! Players must order a uniform at the time of registration. The uniform charge will be posted to player’s family account when the registration fee charge is posted.
